Comments on websites are unnecessary
I hope that I’m not alone in thinking that comments on websites are mostly unnecessary. I view them as a distraction and find that the majority of comments do not add anything pertinent to the article or topic they appear in. That said, I have read some excellent discussions in comments sections below controversial subjects, but they are extremely rare.
It is true that everyone has an opinion. Unfortunately, in this era of Twitter and Facebook and a zillion WordPress blogs -- where the voiceless have been given a voice -- a lot of those opinions appearing in comments are essentially just noise. A lot of noise.

Discussion is encouraged, and comments and feedback are welcome and valued. Civil discourse is important and every opinion matters, not only the opinions that agree with ours. However, it is strongly felt that the proper forum for these discussions needs to be clearly defined and separate from the articles published. Please feel free to get in touch and interact with us and each other via one or more of the options available on our contact page.
